From my husband...

As I sadly watch with disdain at all the reactions to the events of the last few months, I realize that the human race is THE worst thing that could be put upon this planet. There are so many wonderful things around us that it makes all the human race just a poor afterthought of life. Life is so much more than doing bad things and protesting, rioting, bitching and complaining about things that have always been here. Sure, they are evil, and malevolent, but watching history be erased just because it is not what we are supposed to be - is ridiculous.
History needs to be remembered, not for the bad, but so it doesn't happen again. Unfortunately, the human race forgets and repeats the same evils over and over. No matter how bad history was, the imperative to remember it, no matter how dark or evil it was, must be remembered so it doesn't repeat. But, as has often been said, "history repeats itself", life and humanity will do so again and again. Taking down statues, rioting, doing the wrong things, does not make truth disappear. Truth, as difficult as it can be to see, hear or experience, is real. It's as real as life. Being destructive after a wrong has been committed, is just as wrong as the initial offense, and maybe even more so. Why? Because the human race should know better. Wild animals don't even act so stupidly. And these acts place us lower than an animal. Because ALL people should know better.
