Yesterday I got a call from a gal at church, something I haven't been to since this stupidity started up... and she asked if I'd like to one a gal who'd volunteer at the front office. During our conversation we got to talking about the insanity as of late... and sadly, she is one who not only believes all the hype, but is rigidly adamant about it as well. She, literally, treated me as if I was a drunk driver, in my car, driving through the mall, killing everyone I saw...
All because I WILL NOT wear a mask.
The picture to the side here is from a classic Star Trek episode called "Day of the Dove", in which an alien specifically picked two factions out of the galaxy who loathe one another: Humans ~v~ Klingons, and was manipulating their minds, wanting them to fight and fight and fight... even giving them false memories, things that never happened, thereby justifying why their fighting and hatred of the other.
Strange thing about this alien... it was actually healing the maimed in order to keep the fighting going on, while it sat back and watched, most likely laughing as well.
Does this scenario ring with a modicum of truth? Hell no... it SCREAMS with it.
I'm not sure who the powers that be are, sitting around this auspicious table, collecting monies and having a good laugh, but I'm betting you they'll want to keep this bizarre menagerie going as long as possible and torquing bits and pieces of it in order to keep fear levels high and paranoia strong.
I've never been the kind of person who, after my facts and gut feelings won out, wished to say 'told you so', but I have to admit that when the truth comes out regarding this horrendous debacle, you bet your ass I'm going to say it to every single person who looked at me as if I was the guilty party to this mess.
Again, I don't care who wears a mask. Hell, wear it... but don't force the rest of us to follow suit!
