WTF religion

While this thread might not be popular, believe me when I tell you, it's going to be the truth.

After having just watched several shows on NetFlix, one regarding Scientology and the other on Roe-v-Wade, I can honestly say that we have allowed church/religion/beliefs far too much power over what we think/do/believe in.

The belief in God or a supreme being is supposed to bring comfort, help and a deep abiding joy that perhaps there is someone larger than us watching over us... but when you start to filter into that all the shit that man has dumped into it, is it any wonder that so many humans either run from it, or have become monsters because of it?

Example: My sister, I'll call her sister #3. A 'born again', someone who fervently believes the bible is the know all-end all literature and that everyone on earth must follow it's precepts. Because of her fanaticism, she has alienated just about everyone in her life. For what means? To prove to herself that she's right in her beliefs? Well, she's right in what they do for her, but continually trying to shove those same doctrines down others throats as if they should believe it as well is where it is no longer viable.

Example: Abortion. Why in hell does anyone else have the temerity to believe that what goes on in a woman's private life is any business of theirs or, more offensive yet, the government's. It is her body, her decision and everyone else should stay the hell out. Period.

Here's where life gets so damn confusing - and I must say I find myself in tears when I consider the realities of it all...

Churches are trying to insinuate their dirty little hands into everything and have been for many, many years. Once upon a time the church tried to stop King James from divorcing a woman he didn't love, so he left them and started his own church, the church of England, which he then proclaimed should use a myriad of writers to construct what is now the book of all books, the bible, slopped and pieced together by men, by a man who wanted freedom from the church, during a time when the world was considered flat.

What's changed since that time? Well, considering that religion is highly profitable and that's why most blah blah artists get into it, of course it is going to grow and grow and grow until it became the abhorrent Frankenstein it is now. They, with their clever tactics, indecent cronies and buckets of threats and/or money, fit easily into the pockets of anyone they wish to persuade to their ideals. Once captured and sufficiently convinced of any issue they wish to make an issue and have disappear, they utilize those aforementioned traits to their advantage and sway the people in charge to do their bidding. Don't think so? May I refer you back to King James?

And here is where I think it may get really ugly... how little the church is standing up against this covid nonsense. They simply shut down, close their doors and seem to become quiesce to unconstitutional laws, as if it's more beneficial for them to prostrate themselves before the house of government, than the rules of God.

In the end of the great sci-fi movie War of the Worlds, with Gene Barry, we find Gene, or Dr. Clayton Forrester, running from church to church in order to find Sylvia, the woman he loves. No doors are closed, no minister turning anyone away, because back then churches were supposedly the high water mark of good character, decent and upstanding. Now if anyone should feel frightened or alone, 'during this crisis' seek 'us' on Facebook.

What?

Does that blow anyone else's mind as much as it does mine? And if not, why not? I'll tell you why... because just like King James maneuvered his way around all the laws, so do churches today, not giving a shit about people.

And therein lies the problem for me. What building, person, politician, church official or someone in authority still believes they're there to help the people? I don't know any. Haven't seen one in so long I couldn't even tell you what it looks like. When my rights are disappearing, especially ones that should never have the right to be touched, then who is giving two shits about the people? Granted, it seems as if only the noisy, ignorant people are the ones believing in the nonsense, but since they're the ones who easily get whipped into such a frenzy they storm the gates of the proverbial castles, then hey, those seditious groups are getting their dollars worth, aren't they?

I have a slight cold, or it may be nothing more than a compilation of my whiplash, sinuses, hayfever and the shingles (which is a gift that keeps on giving, particularly to my ears). All these are creating the perfect storm in my head and I bet you dollars to donuts that if I were to go into a clinic right now they'd say I had covid and slap me with a two week quarantine, not even bothering to ask me any questions... just so they could get the money promised to them by the US government, which, by the way, for the most part, is lead around like a donkey after a carrot, by religions affiliations.

Our president is swore in on a bible. Most presidents say 'God bless America'... but this is supposed to be a nation for all faiths, so how does 'God' encompass all faiths during a time of crisis? ... that is, unless the crisis itself was man made.

I have always said this covid is a joke, untrue and lead by those wishing to make money off it... but now I get the grotesque feeling that one of these bullshit religious factions has their hands in it, too. Threatening and using stringent coercion... or should I say 'encouraging' those that oppose it what will happen to them should they oppose it. If it wasn't as I say, then why in hell aren't churches fighting, en masse, the systematic closing in order to accommodate the government's desires? Are you kidding me? The church is supposed to be a solace, safe haven, a sanctuary where people can find comfort...

Not anymore, since they wish to rule the world.

I'm not a proponent of the bible. I think it has some nice teachings and particularly Ecclesiastes (the best book within the bible), but all in all, when it talks of God being stupid, God wanting war and death, God sending sperm into a woman and saying, hey honey, I just knocked you up so you can have my kid... come on, more of it doesn't make sense than does and where does that come from? Need I refer you, once again, back to King James and the flat earth?

L Ron Hubbard, the lying bastard who began Scientology said there was nothing more profitable as religion and he was right... look at his empire... but look at what religion has done through the years?

Ireland - Protestants fighting against Catholics over which was right.

England - Formed the Knights Templar, ordered to hunt and kill/maim/torture anyone who didn't believe as the church did.

Muslims - Well, they're still doing it, just read and all this because of one drunken, pandering, womanizer who said he'd heard from Allah himself.

I don't even need to bring up the Catholic church and it's abuses, abuses and abuses... do I?

And the examples go on and on and continue to this day. For what reason? Everything has to have a reason, doesn't it? Of course it does and this one will forever revolve around the almighty dollar, or yen or euro... whatever country you live in to it's particular monetary denomination.

Hell, it wouldn't surprise me in years to come if one church tried to take control of it all, the whole of America and start charging a religious tax. Don't think that could happen? Just wait.

I find myself growing very weary of the country and so many of it's people...

They want freedom and take it away from others. They demand the government stay out of their lives and yet they're always running to it for help. And sadly, they believe the people they vote into office are going to stand up for the people, when that's the last thing they ever think about once in position. People? What people?... But then to couple the insult on the shoulders of a religious dogma... Holy shit.

America used to be so full of life, hope and people actually winning battles... but now it's about money, those who have the power and can lead the sheep, and horrific removal of rights-Constitutional Rights, mind you, that they are supposed to be upholding.

People like myself are getting the mind set of -it is what it is, what can be done-... Nothing, I guess, just bend over and take it up the ass, since it's not worth fighting for anymore...

Let me ask you something... when you're on your knees as these institutions/people are running a train into your non-lubricated brown eye...  How is that mass raping feeling to ya? You want to keep doing it? Here's a ruffie, enjoy, because it's going to last as long as you just take it... cause, Hey, it was the clothes you were wearing, honey, it's all YOUR FAULT.

As Edmund Burke so aptly wrote - “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

And here we are.
