Super Sweet!

This morning while my husband and I lollygagged in bed, the phone rang at 7. Believing it might be our son, I went to answer it and saw that the call was coming from Pennsylvania. I wasn't about to answer that, when the answering machine picked up and suddenly a male voice started to say, "Happy Birthday, brother"... and then he started to sing the birthday song to him. Feeling bad that he wasn't leaving this message for his brother on the important day, I answered and said, hello. He said, "Hi sweetheart." I said, "I think you have the wrong number." Which made him offer a glorious laugh and say, "Well, happy birthday to anyone there." I said "Not until July." He apologized with a lovely laugh, wished me a Happy Easter and we both said goodbye.

Never in my entire life was a wrong number so pleasant and joyful. I hope he got his brother, wished him a Happy Birthday, then he himself went out and had a rather lovely day.

During the whole of this nonsense, beautiful little things like this can make all the difference in the world. As Gandhi once said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." At least bring a smile and some joy to the world... you'll be amazed at the difference it makes!
