Now, since it's winter and there is a boatload of snow outside, it gives me the time to figure out what I want to do with the yard and how I want to go about doing it. Since we first moved in we'd considered making some kind of deck up on the hill in order to just sit there and gaze out at the city and the lake, but how to do it... until today.
I thought about pallets, then I suggested to my hubby that when we have the rest of the house 'dug out' from all the useless grass the guy planted here, that we have them 'dig' a slot in the hillside and make a pallet deck, laying pallets down onto the dirt, securing them and then filling them with cement to make them rigid and last longer. Even he was astounded to hear of such a simple, easy and cheap solution to a possible dream for the yard.
Now, to find the pallets and hopefully, they'll be free, ones discarded from a local company.
